Newbie at Walgreen's Senario! May 20 & 21

Hey, do you want to NEVER pay for health and beauty items again? Here is a great way to start with the Walgreen's RR system.

Walgreen's has released a $5 off any $25 purchase coupon HERE It's only good may 20 & 21st. If you are a newbie this is a great way to get some Register Rewards to use and learn the fine art of "rolling" RR's for FREE stuff!

The fine print reads total must be $25 before taxes and AFTER all manufacturer and Walgreen's coupons. But that doesn't mean this can't be a great deal maker but it does mean you'll have to shell out $20 plus tax minimum at the register.

Best Deal Scenario for maximizing your register rewards:
Colgate Visibly White $4.49 - $1 off printable HERE = $3.49
Dry Idea critical complete roll on $5.99 use $2 off HERE = $3.99
Skintimate Shave lotion $1.99 use .75 cents off from 4/26 Smart Source = $1.24
Bayer Quick Release crystal 4 count $2.49
Band Aids ( J & J ) buy 4 @ $2.50 each use (4) $1 off from 4/26 Red Plum = $6
Bic multi purpose lighter bonus pack $2.99 use $1 off from or HERE = $1.99
OFF clip on protection buy 2 @ $8.99 use $2 off from 5/17 Red Plum and bogo HERE = $6.99

Total $26.19 before taxes / after all coupons use $5 off = $21.19 before tax. You will get back these register rewards: $4.50 Colgate / $5 dry idea / $1 skinitimate / $2.50 Bayer / $4 Band Aids / $3 OFF

Total back: $20 in register rewards net cost after rewards $1.19 + tax.

Now you save these for next week and if you can successfully "roll" these onto the next deal you are only paying tax for the items on sale next week. And new RR's will print from certain items next week. So you spent $20 to get started and it stretches on for as long as you can keep it going/rolling.

Here's a quick lesson about RR's:

What are RR's?

RR are coupons from the Catalina machine that print after you make a qualifying purchase. Most RRs are "On Your Next Order" (OYNO) which can be used like cash on your next order. (Sometimes you may receive a Catalina for $ off a particular item or an advertisement for an rr deal.)

How do I get RR's?

Buy the exact items advertised to receive RR. Using coupons on these items should not affect whether your RR prints. If you complete more than one register rewards deal in one transaction, one reward for each different RR deal should print, but you will not receive more than one RR for the same deal. If you purchased the right items and didn't get RR, you can return the items on the spot or call the catalina company @ 888-322-3814. Have your receipt in front of you, they need some key info from it, and they'll be able to see if the machine was working and if you bought the right products. It does tend to take a few minutes for the call, and then you have to wait to get the RR, which takes 6 - 8 weeks.

How Do I Use RR's?

Generally, you can use your RR like cash on your next purchase, but of course there are exceptions. Most RRs explicitly say that they can not be used on tobacco, alcohol, tax, lottery tickets, money orders, stamps, dairy, or any gift cards or pre-paid cards.

The RR's also say in the small print that you cannot use more RRs and coupons than number of items you are buying. So as long as you are buying as many items as you have RR & coupons, you should be able to use more than one RR's. This is where a small "filler" item is needed. It's something on clearance or super cheap. Or I would get something I needed or wanted if it's a reasonable price. (my usual include: a $.99 Diet Pepsi, $1 nail polish remover, $.29 pack of Walgreen's purse pack tissue, $.10 knee high stockings, $.20 breath fresh drops)

You cannot "roll" RR's into the same deal. For example, if you use an RR from Kellogg's to purchase more Kellogg's items, you will NOT get another RR. The best way to "roll" is to use your Kelloggs RR to complete another RR deal. You can then use the RRs from the 2nd deal, to purchase more Kelloggs.

You also will not get cash back for RR's, so if it's a $2.50 RR and your item is $2.49 you will have to buy a piece of candy or something to put the total over $2.50. RR's will not cover tax. You have to pay tax on your items even if they are ultimately FREE.

Once you get the hang of RR's you will never pay for things like deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, razors, shave cream, soap, lotion, or body wash again. Well.... except for tax and a buck here or there. This whole Walgreen's RR thing took a while for me to finally understand and master, but it has been SO worth it. You'll see..........
